It was Marie Antoinette gone punk when Chanel's Cruise 2012/2013 collection sailed down the runway at the Palace of Versailles. But it wasn't just the clothes that were bold and candy-coloured: angular bobs were supported by a strong make-up look dominated by the colour pink. Reminisce to the 18th century and imagine if Marie Antoinette were ghetto – she’d be sipping tea in a rock n’ roll gathering while Karl Lagerfeld would be monitoring her wardrobe.
Karl Lagerfeld used this very vision for Chanel Cruise 2013 runway show at the Palace of Versailles. It was a contradiction in its strongest element. The picturesque garden brought out the frivolity of the resort collection, while also turning up the notch of ‘adventurous’ in the beauty and hair department. The whimsical hues of lilac, peach, mint and pink continued to trend the entire ensemble, as oppose to limiting themselves to the threads.

Nars Cosmetics to Create Andy Warhol Collection
HELLO ANDY: Nars Cosmetics is giving Andy Warhol another 15 minutes of fame with a new color cosmetics collection expected this fall. Nars Andy Warhol — created by François Nars under a license with The Andy Warhol Foundation — is intended to evoke the cool, image-rich, character-laden world of Warhol in a limited edition collection said to showcase innovative packaging, formulas and shades. The project, which will be launched in the U.S. in October and elsewhere in November, is said to be the brand’s largest strategic collaboration to date.

It takes a special girl to captivate the industry’s premier photographer and Laura Kampman has done just that. Take a look at her Vogue Italia cover story to see just what Miss Kampman brings to the table: her off-kilter appeal is showcased in a series of surrealist shots that owe as much to Dali as they do to Meisel. Looking at home in black veils and blue lips, Laura enlivens some of fashion’s most original pieces.
